The study will analyse the relevance of ship borne dues in selected EU ports, the different tariff systems applied and the logic behind it. It will give the partners, especially those in the new member states, an in-depth inside view of "best practice" approaches and the possibilities to "adapt" them for own purposes, e. g. to ensure competitiveness |

with neighbouring ports or to introduce promotion schemes for environmentally friendly tariff systems ("green ship"). In the context of competitiveness with other ports, the question of the fee and handling costs structure of the whole transportation chain and the relative role of the ship borne dues has to be analysed on sample basis. |
